Serving students and supporting colleagues is meaningful work — but it can also be emotionally demanding. Over time, the constant pace of higher education can leave even the most dedicated professionals feeling exhausted, disconnected, or at risk of burnout.

Join SOCHE for a virtual lunch and learn, “Well-Being in Academia: Mindset and Life Design Tools to Avoid Burnout,” on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 12 p.m. ET via Zoom. This session will be presented by Rebecca Ingle, Director of Student Success at Kettering College.

In this interactive session, you’ll explore practical mindset and life design strategies that can help you sustain your energy, reconnect with your purpose, and build habits that support long-term well-being. Rather than simply managing stress, you’ll learn how to cultivate greater self-awareness, align your daily life with your core values, and find balance even during demanding seasons.

During this session, you’ll learn how to:

  • Implement simple daily reflection practices that increase self-awareness and help you recognize meaningful moments.
  • Clarify your personal values and align your work and life with what matters most.
  • Develop practical self-awareness skills to better understand your goals, motivations, and next steps.
  • Create a greater sense of balance and peace, even when work feels busy, stressful, or unpredictable.

Higher education professionals at every career stage will gain practical techniques for sustaining their energy, strengthening their resilience, and finding greater balance in their work and lives.

The work you do matters…and so does your well-being. Register today to gain practical strategies that will help you prevent burnout, renew your sense of purpose, and continue making a meaningful impact in higher education.

Councils & Committees

SOCHE is dedicated to advancing higher education through active collaboration, resource and knowledge building, and effective professional development programs. To accomplish this, SOCHE administers 16 active Councils and Committees. The purpose of a SOCHE Council or Committee is to provide an opportunity for representatives from higher education to be a resource for one another, share information and best practices, identify common challenges, and, ultimately, broaden awareness of the resources, services, and activities in higher education. SOCHE is also dependent upon the Councils and Committees for substantial input on annual professional development programs.
