Event Details

Join SOCHE for a virtual lunch and learn, “Connecting the Dots: Admissions, Careers, and Student Success,” on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 12 p.m. ET via Zoom. This session will be presented by Erin Willoughby, Director of Admissions & Career Services at Clark State College.

What if career conversations began before students ever stepped foot on campus? At Clark State College, Admissions and Career Services have been combined into one seamless process to help ensure students are choosing the right major, the right career pathway, and ultimately the right future. Guided by the motto, “We help students start with us and then help them leave with their career and future on the right path,” this integrated approach is transforming the student experience from the very beginning.

During this session, Erin will share Clark State’s journey of connecting admissions and career services, from the initial vision and implementation process, to the lessons learned along the way. She will offer an honest look at both the successes and challenges of an initiative that continues to evolve more than two years after its launch.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify a different approach to student enrollment and student success
  • Learn about the process of implementation and integration
  • Learn the honest truth about the process, the outcomes (good and bad), and how the program is still a work in progress
  • Identify new strategies that might improve student success and student experiences for the current student environment

Whether you work in admissions, enrollment management, career services, student affairs, or academic leadership, this session will provide valuable ideas for creating a more intentional, student-centered pathway from enrollment to career success. Register today to learn how connecting admissions and career services can help students start strong and stay on the path to a successful future.

Councils & Committees

SOCHE is dedicated to advancing higher education through active collaboration, resource and knowledge building, and effective professional development programs. To accomplish this, SOCHE administers 16 active Councils and Committees. The purpose of a SOCHE Council or Committee is to provide an opportunity for representatives from higher education to be a resource for one another, share information and best practices, identify common challenges, and, ultimately, broaden awareness of the resources, services, and activities in higher education. SOCHE is also dependent upon the Councils and Committees for substantial input on annual professional development programs.
