Event Details

The fifth session in the 2023 SOCHE Leadership Development series will be a virtual workshop entitled “Building an Environment of Trust.” The session, which will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, from 10-11:30 a.m. ET via Zoom, will be presented by Dr. Rhonda Reagh, executive coach and leadership development trainer.

It is no secret that we live and work in a world of declining trust. Check the headlines or listen to the news every day, and you’ll see that distrust is rampant and contagious. But all is not lost! It’s not impossible to work in and build on a culture that supports trusting relationships and enhanced organizational outcomes. Come explore topics in this discussion based on Stephen Covey’s (The Speed of Trust) and Brené Brown’s (Braving the Wilderness) work on trust.

Webinar participants will:

  • Explore self-trust, relationship trust, and organizational trust through the lens of vulnerability in leadership
  • Identify how people earn trust from us, how we earn it from others, and how these behaviors and actions become important in building high-trust organizations
  • Explore how to change or enhance the trust foundation in their own organization

Participants will be asked to complete a brief assessment prior to this workshop.

Registrants for the 2023 SOCHE Leadership Development Program are automatically enrolled in this event.

Councils & Committees

SOCHE is dedicated to advancing higher education through active collaboration, resource and knowledge building, and effective professional development programs. To accomplish this, SOCHE administers 16 active Councils and Committees. The purpose of a SOCHE Council or Committee is to provide an opportunity for representatives from higher education to be a resource for one another, share information and best practices, identify common challenges, and, ultimately, broaden awareness of the resources, services, and activities in higher education. SOCHE is also dependent upon the Councils and Committees for substantial input on annual professional development programs.
