Event Details

The Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) will host an in-person Title IX Investigator Training on Friday, March 10, at the Montgomery County Business Solutions Center (1435 Cincinnati St., #300, Dayton, Dayton). The training, which will be conducted by attorneys from Bricker & Eckler LLP, takes place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and will include a working lunch.

This workshop will consist of instruction and practice in planning an investigation, handling tricky situations, and formulating investigative questions. Participants will engage in mock interviews to help gather evidence and prepare it for evaluation by a decision-maker.

This workshop is recommended for Title IX coordinators and investigators, and it may also be helpful for decision-makers and appeals officers to understand what happens while conducting an investigation.

This training will provide an excellent opportunity for Title IX personnel to come together and learn with, and from, each other.

Councils & Committees

SOCHE is dedicated to advancing higher education through active collaboration, resource and knowledge building, and effective professional development programs. To accomplish this, SOCHE administers 16 active Councils and Committees. The purpose of a SOCHE Council or Committee is to provide an opportunity for representatives from higher education to be a resource for one another, share information and best practices, identify common challenges, and, ultimately, broaden awareness of the resources, services, and activities in higher education. SOCHE is also dependent upon the Councils and Committees for substantial input on annual professional development programs.
