Event Details

You are invited to join SOCHE for a virtual lunch and learn entitled “The Art of Networking and Mingling: Putting Your Best Foot Forward,” on Thursday, Dec. 4, beginning at 12 p.m. ET. The session will be presented by Dr. Roger Fulk and Morgan Wick from Edison State Community College.

How you communicate informally at events is every bit as important, if not more so, as how you come across when you’re in the spotlight at your workplace. In fact, knowing how to mingle and network may be more important to your overall success in your professional life than anything else.

Networking is also an important, often overlooked social skill. Ever heard the saying, “It’s all about who you know?” The people you interact with can craft the makeup of your client base and set the pace for your career.

This session will focus on tips to practice mingling and techniques to use to network effectively. Business cards, handshakes, socializing, networking, social media platforms, and other important etiquette topics will be discussed and practiced, which are sure to spark your professionalism.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify strategies to build meaningful and lasting professional relationships
  • Apply techniques to feel more confident and comfortable in social and networking environments
  • Understand the impact of first impressions and practice ways to present themselves authentically
  • Develop tactics to increase visibility and influence within their professional community
  • Recognize informal networking as a source of new opportunities and insights
  • Strengthen both verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including active listening

This session offers actionable takeaways to help professionals at any stage of their career network with intention and make every interaction count. Click here to register now.
