You are invited to join SOCHE for a virtual lunch and learn entitled “An Instructor’s Approach to AI-Enhanced Student Career Growth,” on Wednesday, Oct. 16, beginning at 12 p.m. ET. The session will be presented by Heather Nester and Stephen Amundson, from the University of Cincinnati College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies.
Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are opening a broad spectrum of opportunities for supporting college and graduate students as they navigate through career options and build their professional portfolios.
This session will explore the most effective strategies for helping students adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the workforce. Together we also will explore how to write CAREful AI prompts to guide student activities, support, and assignments.
Our goal is to focus on where education is going versus where we’ve been. We invite you to join us as we discuss the significant impact of incorporating AI tools and assignments into our teaching environments.
Webinar participants will learn to:
- Determine the level of comfort participants have with the integration of various AI tools in the classroom.
- Identify practical strategies for integrating AI tools into career-oriented activities, enhancing students’ readiness for the professional world.
- Design CAREful AI prompts that effectively yields outcomes in an educational context.

About the Presenters
Heather Nester
Assistant Professor of Career Education, College of Cooperative Education & Professional Studies

Heather Nester is an Assistant Professor of Career Education in the College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies (CCPS) at the University of Cincinnati. She teaches students across diverse Arts and Sciences disciplines to promote self-reflection, discovery, and the pursuit of finding a career worth having as they individual define it. Her research focuses on career exploration and the development of professional identity and has presented the local, regional, and international level. She also currently serves as the Editor in Chief of the Journal for the Study of Cooperative and Experiential Education (JSCEE) which explores interdisciplinary perspectives on experiential education.
