Event Details

You’re invited to join SOCHE for another virtual lunch and learn “Graduation Plans Promote Individualized Student Success,” on Tuesday, Feb. 21, beginning at 12 p.m. ET, entitled “Creating Learning Opportunities Using Podcasts,” on Thursday, Oct. 13, beginning at 12 p.m. ET. The session will be presented by Jenny Klein, Executive Director of Academic Advising and Graduation Plans, and Suraiya Padiyath Abdulla, Associate Director for Graduation Plans, at Ohio University.

Ohio University is integrating academic course work, experiential learning opportunities, and career preparation into one document that is co-created with students and lives in their student center for easy access. It is a living document, revisited and adjusted as students add minors, choose different electives, and continue on their educational journey. It also includes important curricular milestones that students need to meet. As a result of this holistic endeavor, Ohio University now guarantees that all students who follow their graduation plan will graduate on plan and on time.

At this webinar, attendees will learn:

  • The graduation plan progress that Ohio University has made thus far, and the journey and strategy that was used to get here.
  • How collaboration with disparate units can achieve interwoven experience for students.

As an added SOCHE membership benefit, personnel from member institutions receive complimentary registration for this lunch and learn. Personnel from non-member institutions will need to pay a nominal fee. You can review the SOCHE member list here.

Join us for a discussion about co-creation of the academic experience, what that means, and why it is important.

Councils & Committees

SOCHE is dedicated to advancing higher education through active collaboration, resource and knowledge building, and effective professional development programs. To accomplish this, SOCHE administers 16 active Councils and Committees. The purpose of a SOCHE Council or Committee is to provide an opportunity for representatives from higher education to be a resource for one another, share information and best practices, identify common challenges, and, ultimately, broaden awareness of the resources, services, and activities in higher education. SOCHE is also dependent upon the Councils and Committees for substantial input on annual professional development programs.
