Event Details
The Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) invites you to a special virtual event, “Crisis Response in Higher Education: What Is Your Campus Prepared For?” which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. ET via Zoom. This FREE session will feature Dr. Grant Azdell, who is a crisis management and emergency planning expert, as well as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Randolph-Macon College in Virginia.
Whether it’s a big crisis, such as hackers taking over your computer system and demanding a $30M ransom, or just the daily crisis mode that we had to work in during the pandemic, higher education leadership are re-evaluating their response plans to meet the needs of the 2024 environment.
In this session, you’ll hear about crisis management risks that all campuses face today and explore how to prepare for crisis situations that may arise. You’ll also learn who needs to be around the table when discussing crisis preparation.
- How do you create organized chaos out of a chaotic situation?
- What is your responsibility in an emergency?
- What is ICS/NIMS and how does it work?
Following this conversation, you’ll be able to ask the right questions about crisis management and preparedness.
Drawing from his extensive experience in both higher education and emergency management, Dr. Azdell will offer valuable insights into the evolving landscape of campus crisis response over the past decade and provide strategies for enhancing your institution’s readiness for such incidents.
Don’t miss out on this chance to discover ways to improve your campus’s preparedness for crises in the aftermath of the pandemic.
When: Tuesday, April 9, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. ET
