Student Registration Fee Policy

STUDENT REGISTRATION FEE POLICY for SOCHE Professional Development Events and Programs

SOCHE works to make all professional development opportunities available to our members at as low a cost as possible. As part of this initiative, we sometimes will offer low- or no-cost event registration for students, so they can participate in these opportunities without incurring additional costs.

Student registration for SOCHE events is reserved for STUDENTS. It is not intended for full-time faculty or staff to utilize, regardless of whether they currently might be matriculating through a program. If a full-time faculty or staff member is discovered utilizing student registration, they will be asked to unregister and re-register appropriately, using SOCHE member or non-member registration. Failure to do this could result in being invoiced for the missing registration fee.

If a full-time faculty or staff member is taking a course that requires them to participate in specific SOCHE events, they will be asked to provide proof of this requirement for each event. Fee waiver consideration for these events will be subject to SOCHE approval and will be conducted on a case-by-case basis.

All events incur costs for SOCHE. Please be sure you are registering with the appropriate fee for each event.

Councils & Committees

SOCHE is dedicated to advancing higher education through active collaboration, resource and knowledge building, and effective professional development programs. To accomplish this, SOCHE administers 16 active Councils and Committees. The purpose of a SOCHE Council or Committee is to provide an opportunity for representatives from higher education to be a resource for one another, share information and best practices, identify common challenges, and, ultimately, broaden awareness of the resources, services, and activities in higher education. SOCHE is also dependent upon the Councils and Committees for substantial input on annual professional development programs.
