Join the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) for a virtual lunch and learn, “Beyond Recruiting: Building Lasting Employer Partnerships,” on Tuesday, April 13, at 12 p.m. ET via Zoom. This session will be presented by Cordelia Schack-Edmiston from the University of Cincinnati.
Successful employer partnerships extend far beyond recruiting events and job postings. The strongest collaborations are built through ongoing communication, shared goals, and meaningful engagement that benefits students, employers, and institutions alike.
In this session, attendees will explore how the University of Cincinnati’s College of Cooperative Education & Professional Studies has transformed its approach to employer engagement by creating intentional systems that support partners throughout the entire relationship lifecycle. Learn how a strategic organizational redesign established dedicated functions for employer onboarding, portfolio management, and partner success, creating a more coordinated and responsive experience for industry partners.
Drawing on real-world examples, this presentation will highlight practical ways to strengthen employer relationships through onboarding sessions, regular communication, advisory board participation, classroom engagement, career programming, and other collaborative opportunities. Participants will leave with actionable strategies for cultivating partnerships built on trust, shared value, and long-term collaboration that advance both student success and workforce development.

About the Presenter
Cordelia Schack-Edmiston
Associate Director, Industry Engagement, College of Cooperative Education & Professional Studies
University of Cincinnati
Cordelia Schack-Edmiston serves as Associate Director of Industry Engagement at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Cooperative Education & Professional Studies (CCPS). A University of Cincinnati graduate with a master’s degree from the University of Kentucky, she brings experience from both higher education and the private sector to her work building strategic employer partnerships. Since joining CCPS in 2022, she has helped shape initiatives that support the growth of cooperative education, strengthen employer engagement, and enhance organizational effectiveness through technology and innovation. Before transitioning to higher education, Cordelia held sales management roles within the automation industry. Originally from Germany, she enjoys traveling, learning about different cultures and languages, playing racquet sports, and taking advantage of any opportunity to be outdoors.
