Event Details

For the 2025-2026 school year, SOCHE will host a special Career Development Series of virtual presentations that is designed to support higher education personnel as they help develop the Workforce of Tomorrow.

The fifth and final session of the SOCHE Career Development Series will be “Career Connectedness: A Catalyst for Student Success,” hosted on Wednesday, April 15, from 12 to 1 p.m. ET via Zoom. Dr. Kemal Aydin, the program chair for Information Technology at Franklin University, will be presenting.

In today’s dynamic academic and professional landscape, career connectedness is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity for student success. This session will demonstrate how intentionally integrating career development into the student experience fuels engagement, boosts retention, and cultivates long-term achievement.

Attendees will discover practical strategies, effective models for cross-campus collaboration, and innovative tools that empower students to connect their academic journeys to meaningful career pathways. Whether you advise students, teach courses, or provide support services, you’ll gain actionable insights to help guide students in discovering their purpose, building vital professional networks, and making confident decisions about their futures.

Councils & Committees

SOCHE is dedicated to advancing higher education through active collaboration, resource and knowledge building, and effective professional development programs. To accomplish this, SOCHE administers 16 active Councils and Committees. The purpose of a SOCHE Council or Committee is to provide an opportunity for representatives from higher education to be a resource for one another, share information and best practices, identify common challenges, and, ultimately, broaden awareness of the resources, services, and activities in higher education. SOCHE is also dependent upon the Councils and Committees for substantial input on annual professional development programs.
