About the SOCHE ED Conference
SOCHE is turning 50 and SOCHE ED 2017 will be the main event for celebrating our Golden Anniversary! Building on a half century of success, the theme for SOCHE ED is Collaboration for the Future. SOCHE ED promises to challenge higher education to act collaboratively to find solutions to its most pressing issues.
This year's conference will be highly interactive, focusing on the importance of collaborative learning and student engagement techniques. Elizabeth Barkley will lead the SOCHE ED conversation with an interactive keynote. This year Elizabeth Barkley will continue the conversation into a highly interactive workshop.
SOCHE ED will bring together academics, administrators, staff, and students from community colleges, public and private colleges and universities. Together, we will RE-ENERGIZE and collaborate for the future through the exchange of ideas, engaging conversation, and critical reflection on how we each contribute to the success of our campuses and ultimately, the success of our students and graduates.
About the Faculty Awards Banquet
Each year SOCHE hosts an awards banquet honoring faculty from each SOCHE member institution. Academic officers at each university select faculty based on each institution’s criteria, with special consideration of demonstrated excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship throughout the past academic year. This year we will also honor the Diversity and Inclusion Award Winners. We at SOCHE are pleased to announce the 2017-2018 Faculty Excellence Award Winners and the SOCHE Diversity and Inclusion Award Winners on Thursday, November 3, 2017 at the Dayton Art Institute from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Gothic Cloister. Registration opens at 11:30 AM.
Award winners may invite two guests ($35 per guest) to the Awards Ceremony luncheon. You must RSVP with your guest's name and email address. Committee members and nominators are encouraged to attend and support their institutions Award Winners ($35 fee).
