The 2021 Articulation & Transfer Conference will take place on Friday, Oct. 22, from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. via SOCHE's Zoom platform. The pre-conference session, " Back to Basics with the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s Ohio Articulation and Transfer Network," begins at 8:45 a.m. and is included with the registration fee. Webinar access information will be sent to registrants shortly before the event.

Session 1 – The Great Unbundling: MiCro-credentials, MiCro-learning, and the EdTech Influence on Higher Education
EdTech is growing, and micro-credentials are more popular than ever. Higher education institutions across the globe are grappling with how to keep up. Learn more about micro-credentials and the call by employers for more signals of learning.  The college degree is still valuable, yet it is more important than ever to think now about what credentials will promote student achievement, student retention, and ultimately, job placement in their respective fields.

Session 2 – Embracing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Transfer
A discussion of how one university’s mission-based commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion has influenced the recruitment and admission process for prospective students, particularly prospective transfer students.

Session 3 – Mixing Models: Using Technology to Enhance Student Engagement
Through dynamic activities and guided discussions, participants will explore strategies for using technology to enhance student engagement. This session will introduce participants to the Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition (SAMR) Model. This session will be of particular interest to faculty determined to complement their teaching style incorporating technology into their pedagogy to enhances student engagement and the learning experience. Participants will develop a toolbox of strategies for student success using technology.
