Council of Student Affairs Officers
Serves as a forum for discussion and collaboration
on topics and issues affecting the region's higher education community by:
- Providing
professional support and renewal for those who wish to enhance
student-centered learning and development through involvement
in an inter-institutional and interdisciplinary community of peers
- Identifying
trends and issues that affect students, staff, and developing strategies
to address these needs
- Developing consortial and public recognition
programs for outstanding student affairs professionals on the
member institution campuses, and utilizing these professionals
as a key professional development resource
- Engaging members of the
student affairs profession in the collaborative, scholarly examination
of their practices
- Developing strategies to expand and enhance
students' access to higher education
- Researching and implementing
regional student leadership development program to maximize
the potential of outstanding students in the consortium's member
institutions
- Developing an Annual Student Leaders Recognition Program
and Scholarly Forum
- Undertaking studies and making recommendations
for possible programming in the areas of concern for the student
affairs profession including Greek Life, Campus Climate, Career
Services, data collection, crisis management, combination of
critical resources (i.e. student health insurance, student legal
services, etc.)
