Strategic Objectives
Adopted by the SOCHE Board of Trustees on January 19, 2005, the four primary strategic objectives are:
A. Expand educational opportunity and enrollment for students
Tactics
A. 1. Support institution-to-institution articulation agreements and transfer procedures
A. 2. Collaborate on cross-registration initiatives to promote the inter-institutional flow of students
A. 3. Expand the Student Research Program by exploring new educational opportunities with WPAFB, private industry, and other strategic alliances
A. 4. Facilitate success for students of under-represented populations
A. 5. Collaborate with colleges/universities and community organizations to promote southwestern Ohio as a region of excellence for higher education
B. Advance collaborative faculty and staff development initiatives
Tactics
B. 1. Implement council-driven professional development conferences and programs
B. 2. Support distance education research and best practices
B. 3. Research and post Internet resources on the SOCHE website for the benefit of membership
C. Expand relationships and partnerships
Tactics
C. 1. Increase the membership base in higher education, private industry, and other organizations through such methods as: regular, business, and associate memberships
C. 2. Provide infrastructure to support social interaction and production of collaborative outcomes by councils and committees
C. 3. Establish informal and formal partnerships with organizations that advance the mission of SOCHE
D. Increase long-term stability and mission effectiveness of SOCHE

D. 1. Expand and stabilize the revenue base through such methods as: increased memberships, collaborative grants, contracts, and conference sponsorships
D. 2. Develop measurable criteria for assessment of strategic objectives
D. 3. Maintain the Covenant of Lifelong Learning and Collaboration
D. 4. Document internal procedures and practices
